Post Graduate Diploma in Banking and Finance Examination 2014 Syllabus

Candidates will be selected through a selection process consisting of Online Test followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Online examination consists of objective type multiple choice questions. The syllabus of this test includes Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General English and General Awareness. Total 200 Questions, worth of 200 marks and the duration is 2 hours.

1. Reasoning:
Number Series, Coding -Decoding, Sequence & Series, Alphabet test, Classification, Blood Relations, Direction Test, Venn Diagrams, Group Reasoning, Syllogism, Alpha Numeric Sequence Puzzle Test, Number, Ranking & Time Sequence Test and Logical Arrangement of Words.

2. Quantitative Aptitude:
Simplifications, Numbers, Problems on Numbers, L.C.M and H.C.F, Average, Ratio
and Proportion, Time and Work, Boats & Streams, Age Relations, Percentages,
Partnership, Simple Interest, Compound Interest, Geometry, Approximate Value, Areas, Discount, Probability, Profit And Loss, Time And Distance, Number System, Data Interpretation – Tables,  Pie charts, Caselet, Bar Graphs, Line Graphs, Permutation And Combination, Simplification etc.

3. English Language:
Parts of Speech, Prepositions, Articles, Tenses, Antonyms, Synonyms, Degrees of 
Comparison, Idiomatic Expressions, Spotting Errors, One Word Substitution, Reading Comprehension, Analogy, Jumbled Sentences etc.

4. General Awareness:
Current Affairs, Banking, Finance, Sports, General Science, History & Culture,
Geography, Polity, Economy, Books and Authors, Awards and Important dates, Latest committees and Commissions, Banking Terminology,  Computer Shortcuts and terms, Internet and Social Media, Appointments and Who is who, Sports and Winners, Science and Technology, Latest Government Schemes and Stock GK etc.

Note: Wrong answers in objective test will attract negative marks (1/4th of marks assigned to that question) for the online test.
